Corrections Policy

Last updated: 31 August 2026

My Morocco aims to publish accurate, useful, and responsibly researched information. This Corrections Policy explains how we handle factual errors, outdated information, reader feedback, and article updates.

My Morocco is published and edited by John Harris.

1. Our Approach to Accuracy

We review content before publication and try to distinguish established facts from interpretation, personal experience, regional variation, and culinary preference.

Some topics, especially recipes, traditions, markets, prices, opening hours, ingredients, and regional practices, may change or vary over time.

2. What We Correct

We may correct or update content when we identify:

  • factual errors;
  • incorrect dates, names, places, or measurements;
  • outdated information;
  • broken or misleading links;
  • unsupported historical or cultural claims;
  • food-safety concerns;
  • incorrect dietary or allergen information;
  • unclear wording that could mislead readers;
  • significant formatting or publishing errors.

3. Minor Corrections

Minor changes such as spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting, or small wording improvements may be made without adding a formal correction notice.

These changes do not alter the meaning or substance of the article.

4. Substantive Corrections

When a correction materially changes the meaning of an article or fixes an important factual, safety, dietary, historical, or cultural error, we may update the article and make the correction clear where appropriate.

We do not change publication dates simply to make old content appear newly published.

5. Article Updates

Articles may be updated when:

  • better information becomes available;
  • a source has changed;
  • prices, availability, opening hours, or services have changed;
  • a recipe needs clarification;
  • food-safety guidance needs improvement;
  • important links stop working;
  • reader feedback identifies a useful correction.

An update does not necessarily mean the original article contained an error.

6. Recipes and Regional Differences

Moroccan recipes and culinary traditions often vary between regions, families, and individual cooks.

A different preparation method does not automatically mean one version is wrong.

When appropriate, My Morocco will clarify regional variations or identify a recipe as an adaptation rather than presenting one method as the only authentic version.

7. Health, Dietary, and Food-Safety Corrections

Content involving allergies, celiac disease, dietary restrictions, food safety, herbs, supplements, or health effects receives additional attention.

If we identify a potentially unsafe or misleading statement, we may correct or remove it promptly.

Readers should still verify ingredients, product labels, cross-contact risks, and professional health guidance when relevant.

8. Reader Correction Requests

Readers are welcome to report errors.

When contacting us, please include:

  • the URL of the article;
  • the statement you believe is incorrect;
  • a short explanation of the issue;
  • a reliable source, where available.

Send correction requests through our Contact page:

9. How We Review a Correction

We may review the original article, available sources, official information, and relevant expert or primary references before deciding whether a correction is required.

Not every disagreement results in a correction. Differences of opinion, taste, interpretation, or regional culinary practice may be explained rather than treated as factual errors.

10. Removing Content

In some cases, content may be removed instead of corrected if it is substantially inaccurate, unsafe, obsolete, duplicated, or no longer useful to readers.

11. Editorial Independence

Correction decisions are based on accuracy and reader value.

Advertisers, affiliate relationships, commercial partners, or other outside interests should not prevent a factual correction from being made.
