The second Arts in Marrakech (AiM) Festival opens on Friday 23rd November 2007 with an exhibition of contemporary photography from South Africa at the Marrakech Museum. Over seven days, North Africa’s most exotic city will play host to some of the world’s best photography and film art, literary talks and readings, and a special screenwriters forum. Attendees will include Cannes prize-winning director John Boorman (The General, Deliverance), Moroccan filmmaker Faouzi Ben Saidi (What a Wonderful World), actor Richard E Grant, writers Zadie Smith, Hanif Kureishi and Tahir Shah, plus BBC TV arts executive Alan Yentob, and performance artist Sussan Deyhim.

Events will take place at some of Marrakech’s most chic and architecturally outstanding venues including a very cool boutique hotel (Riad El Fenn), a beautifully restored
16th-century townhouse turned member’s club (Kssour Agafay), Dar Cherifa cultural center, contemporary Art Galleries Rê, 127 and Light, the Royal Theater and the Marrakech museum.
